Music Therapy

When: October 25, 2005
How Long: 12:50-3:20
Where: Barclay and Ginther Schools
Who: Myself, Christopher Gold, Adam, Aidan and Evan

I had my second music therapy session today and I still don't know what to think about it. I love working with the kids - it was really fun today, to watch and interact as well.

It was more of a fun day with Adam at the Barclay school - we did stuff with Halloween, and wrote a song about how to get ready for Halloween. The five parts of the song were:
1. Get your costume on
2. Get your pumpkins
3. Get the bags for candy
4. Hang the decorations
5. Hang Frankenstein up

We shut the lights off when Chris sang it - Adam was up and down shutting the lights off several times. We played percussion instruments, and did 5 scary noises with the drums -
1. Wiggle your fingers on the drum
2. Drum Roll
3. Knock on the drum 4 times
4. Scratch your fingers on the drum
5. Loud tap soft tap x 2

And then Chris did the "Rain Wind Thunder" song; and then let Adam lead. We turned the lights back on and did the good bye song. Chris and I packed up and went to the Ginther school to work with Aidan.

Aidan is so adorable! He won't say much, and it seems like he knows what to say, but just wont or cant say it. His pants kept falling down as well, and towards the end he decided I was going to be his jungle gym - he swung around on top of me. Like I said, adorable. We played with the sticks, and did 'Day-O';'Head, Shoulders Knees and Toes';'Ring Around the Rosy'; and a few others.

Evan was a little bit stubborn today, and his nose was dripping snot. He was still fun though. We sang with him about basketball and soccer. He played the bells to that song we wrote. We talked and sang about the seasons, and then we had to leave (The basketball/soccer thing took a while).
